About YouthBuild
Eufaula Housing Authority’s YouthBuild program is a youth job placement program that serves out-of-school youth in the Barbour County area. Young adults ages 16-24 are provided with the opportunity, hope, and support to rebuild their lives and are equipped with the necessary skills to facilitate lifelong success in both the workforce and the community.
Philosophy
The YouthBuild philosophy is to convey the importance of post-secondary education as a vehicle for individual advancement and growth.
Mental Toughness - Orientation
Each student must complete a mental toughness orientation before being accepted into the YouthBuild program. During this Mental Toughness participants learn the history of YouthBuild, Core Values, Rules and the 5 Elements that are foundational to the YouthBuild program. Participants will be involved in daily physical training exercises, team building activities, and various soft skills workshops. In addition, participants will take part in a community service assignment in order to teach the importance of giving back.
Leadership Development
The importance of leadership and giving back to the community are ideals which YouthBuild work hard to instill in each participant.
