The Little Scholars
Pre-School Readiness Program was started in 1998 in an effort to provide
developmentally appropriate learning experiences for three and four year
old children. We believe that children learn by doing and that children grow
and learn at individual paces. When provided varied and developmentally appropriate
opportunities to discover, explore and learn, young children will develop
self-esteem and self-discipline. This readiness program teaches kids in an
interactive learning environment. Stressing problem solving and fundamentals
of language and reading and writing, these boys and girls are also exposed
to music, recreation and computers. Regular field trips are also part of
the learning experience for our children. Children are transported in a housing
authority van for all field trips.
The Little Scholars
Pre-School Readiness Program is absolutely free to residents of the Eufaula
Housing Authority’s Public Housing or Section 8 programs. Little Scholars
Pre-School hours are from 8:30 AM until 2:30 PM during the city school year.
Breakfast and lunch is served on a daily basis. A snack time and nap period
as well as recreation activities on the playground are also part of the school day.
All members of the
professional staff at Little Scholars Pre-School are highly qualified for
their positions with bachelor degrees. Other
instructors are brought in to teach and provide instruction in specialized
subjects like nature, cultural arts, crafts and nutrition.
